New process could mean quicker claims

The Ministry of Justice has recently launched an online system designed to streamline the handling of the majority of Road Traffic Accident claims.

Any car accidents occurring after 30th April with a value of less than £10,000.00 must now be handled through the new RTA claims portal which provides a secure link between Claimant Solicitors and Insurance Companies.

Commenting on the new scheme Integrum Law’s Martyn Brown said "As a firm we always try and make use of electronic communication simply because it is quicker, however we often find that Insurance Companies are unable to cope with handling claims as quickly as we would like. Under the new process there will be costs sanctions if Insurers don’t deal with claims within very strict time limits".

Martyn added “We hope that for the majority of Road Traffic Accident claims the new process will mean that injured parties receive their compensation more quickly and here at Integrum we are already geared up to use the new process for the benefit of our clients”.
